The strategy game Ecopolicy is aimed at introducing Systems Thinking and interconnectedness in a simple and comprehensive manner. The players’ aim is to rule their country in an economical and ecologically sustainable manner under the premises of interconnected thinking. The players manage the state by investing in eight interconnected life areas: politics, production, environmental pollution, quality of life, sanitation, population, growth rate, and education. In the game, these areas are interlinked by mathematical relations that results in a chain of effects after a single decision.
Ecopolicy promotes good governance, intersectoral communications and cultural/economical understanding. It allows leaders to sense the world at a deeper and higher level, beyond topics and subjects, to understand the interconnectivity that surrounds specialists environments.
This will equip them with new tools and methodologies to diagnose and solve policy issues which will bring about more sustainable solutions and policies that will enable them to make a better contribution to society.
